About the Divisions
Allied Pediatrics of New York,
PLLC is a single-specialty “mega” pediatrics group
created when sixteen established and highly-regarded practices in
Queens,
Nassau and
Suffolk Counties came together to assume more control over medical
decisions and improve the quality of care. Each practice became a
Division of APNY and retains clinical and financial control over
their offices. Certain practice management functions have been
centralized to achieve economies of scale and meet legal thresholds
that establish APNY as a bona fide corporation. A Board of Managers
has been democratically elected with representation from the
smallest to largest practices. The Board has the authority, subject
to approval of the members in certain cases, to make decisions
affecting the entire Group such as approval of new Divisions,
contracts with suppliers and MCO’s, etc. while the Divisions retain
autonomy with respect to their day-to-day operations.
